Three Cheers for the Inaugural Build Guild

Last night Jason and I attended the first ever assemblage of the members of the Build Guild. As a meeting of the smartest, sexiest, and most semantically correct that Salem has to offer, it was a huge success.

Build Guilde

Having the Build Guild exactly one week after our epic move to Salem was - like everything in this town - perfect for us. It was almost as though co-founders Marc Amos and Angelo Simeoni said “hey, these two kids are moving to a new town where they’re total strangers to everyone, let’s find a way to gather up all the awesome people they’d want to be friends with in one place.” Of course that wasn’t the case, since before last night we were strangers to both Marc and Angelo as well.

These fine gents actually created Build Guild to bring all the local web geeks into one place, and apparently there are a ton of us. So many, in fact, that we couldn’t all fit. It’s great to know there’s so many like-minded people here in this town of witches and sailors, and just makes me all the more thrilled to be here.

For more information, be sure to check out the following:

Thanks again to Marc and Angelo, I can’t wait for the next one!

  1. This was a ton of fun, and I’m really excited about the next one. I’m guessing registration is going to be kind of competitive though. Maybe Marc will give us the inside scoop if I promise to film the next one too.

    Hooray for Salem!

  2. Great to meet you guys last night, congrats on the big move to Salem. I know you’ll love it here.

  3. That was kind of what BarCamp Orlando was like for me when moving to Florida. Except Salem’s way cooler.

  4. Marcel says:

This was cool. I wish I had eaten before having 4 beers. Doh.

  5. Jermaine says:

I’m a little jealous but I think I can deal with it.

  6. That’s actually pretty close to our thought process. We felt like there were tons of really great people around Salem that would be into an event like this. Looks like we were on the money.

  7. Marc Amos says:

    I’ll definitely go again.

    …oh wait.

  8. Erik says:

Ahhh! So, this is why we couldn’t get together today. You have been found out! :)
